Renewable and Alternative Energy society of Nigeria (RAESON) held her 9th annual and international conference from 24th to 27th July, 2019 at Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku.
it is worthy of note to state that the Polytechnic became the First ever Polytechnic in Nigeria to host this great conference on Renewable Energy and its Sustainability. The Rector of Delta State Polytechnic Prof. Stella Chinye Chiemeke gave a welcome address which was followed by an opening remark by the National President of RAESON Prof. Chidi E. Akujor. The Conference President and Vice Chancellor of Igbinedion University Okada Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye was also present to grace the occassion. The Honourable commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education of Delta State, Chief Patrick Ukah was fully represented. Prof. A.J. Ekpunobi (FSESN), a Professor of Physics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, spoke on the Conference topic “Renewable Energy for Environmental Protection and Sustainability”.
The Conference lecture constituted a good opportunity to broaden the horizon of Nigerians and to promote awareness on Renewable energy and its sustainability, the lecture met its objectives by encouraging Researchers to liaise with others in this field to migrate from Brown energy (BIOGAS, Fossil Fuel etc) to Green Energy (Solar, Wind, Geothermal etc).
During the course of the conference, Awards of fellowship were conferred on 2 members of RAESON, Prof. Tijani B.and Engr. Dike as the Conference body RAESON found them worthy of the opportunity.
The Conference was conducted successfully, all participants took active part in the lecture papers presented and it was a huge success
