Hon. Minister commends DSPG and Rector on new inventions.
The Honourable Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has greatly commended the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku and the Rector, Prof. Stella Chinye Chiemeke today when he visited the Institution’s exhibition stand at the ongoing 5th Edition of The Technology and Innovation Expo 2021 organized by the Federal Ministry of Science And Technology.
The EXPO which has its Theme: “Science, Technology And Innovation For Economic Recovery And Sustainability Amidst COVID-19 Challenges”
Provides a platform to showcase innovations by agencies of government, private research institutions and the academia, among other participants; also saw the Delta based Institution showcase her new inventions which includes; Solar Powered Melon Dehucking Machine, Chicken De-Feathering Machine, Covid-19 Hand Washing/Sanitizing Machine, Gas/ Charcoal Baking Oven, Solar Powered Hand Washing Machine, and Plantain Chips Slicing Machine.
Seeing this uncommon inventions coming from a Polytechnic amidst Covid-19 era shows that the Rector and management are in tune with modern trends in Science, Technology and Innovation. I must commend the Rector the Institution for participating in this year’s EXPO and hope to see more inventions in the next event.
speaking to the honourable minister Engr. Abu Lukman, the inventor of De-feathering machine said the machine is made specifically for De-feathering birds of all kinds, would help in places with high customer demand, such as hotels, eateries and poultries. It is hygienic and help to ease the stress of de-feathering birds manually and also save time.
“We are here to let the government know that there are brains in our institution can create things out of nothing and we need the full support of the Government to encourage more inventions” Engr Lukeman added.
