Dr. Nelson Chika OGONWA is a Linguist and a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Languages, Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi Uku. He was Head of Department of Languages in the institution from 2012-2014, Dean, School of General Studies (2020-2024) and member of the Institution’s Governing Council (2019-2023) representing the Polytechnic Academic Board. He also served as the branch chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) from (2008-2013), Zone D Coordinator of ASUP (2015-2019) and National Financial Secretary of ASUP (2019-2023). He received his Ph.D. from from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (2017), Master Degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2005), and Bachelor Degree from the Delta State University, Abraka (1998). He has a lot of research interest in theory of literature and literary criticism, sociocriticism and discourse analysis, Francophone African literature, Nigerian literature written in/translated into French, linguistics, teaching of French as a foreign language and translation theory and practice. He is a member of the Linguistic Association of Nigeria (LAN) and the Literary Society Of Nigeria. He is currently working on social discourse and governance in postcolonial Francophone African literature.
